This Patagonia Argentina 7-days tour begins in Ushuaia and continues in El Calafate. Traveling the enchanted route of old estancias at the end of the world, on the way discovering the customs and traditions of “gauchos”, and having a walk along the trails of Tierra del Fuego National Park surrounded by incredible millenary forests.

In Calafate, you will have the opportunity to experience a typical country day in an Estancia. Enjoy a typical Argentine barbecue and end the day navigating at the foot of the famous Perito Moreno Glacier. You will also admire the most beautiful landscapes on a horseback ride in Los Glaciares National Park. An unforgettable experience!

  1. Day 1 Arrival in Ushuaia - Navigation on the Beagle Channel

    Arrival to Ushuaia, the southernmost city in the world, and small group transfer to the hotel. 

     

    In the afternoon, you will meet with a small group at Ushuaia Pier for a trip on a yacht along the Beagle Channel (boat max 12 people) to admire sea lions and cormorants. Heading to Island H, you set foot ashore for a short walk (1 hour approx) to discover Yámana archaeological sites, the fauna and flora of the island in the company of your guide.

     

    You will have a breathtaking view of the Lighthouse Les Éclaireurs, between Argentina and Chile, with the Andes Mountains as background.

     

    Return to Ushuaia

    The boat has an interior cabin with toilets, snacks and waterproof clothing on board.

     

  2. Day 2 San Pablo Cape & Estancia Rolito

    In the morning a transfer will pick you up from your hotel. You will go on a new adventure!

    Discovering some of the unique pearls buried in this land. You will appreciate Lake Escondido, the little town of Tolhuin and by midday, you will take the Provincial Route “A”, through a gravel road heading toward the Atlantic Ocean and the San Pablo Cape. At this point, you will hike up to an isolated mountain with an abandoned lighthouse at the end. There, you will appreciate the Desdemona, an abandoned ship for almost 40 years ago. Later, you will continue to the Estancia Rolito; a lovely ranch that keeps the spirit of a family business based on sheep farming tradition. You can also take some time to walk around part of the gorgeous 500-hectare ancient lenga forest, taking thick green pathways, visit the shearing shed, where there are already some wool bales from the first shearing.

    Transfer back to your hotel after enjoying a unique experience.

  3. Day 3 Trekking and canoeing at Tierra del Fuego National Park

    After breakfast, your guide will pick you up from your hotel for a small group excursion to Tierra del Fuego National Park.

    You will be able to discover the secrets of the park and wonderful landscapes. You will hike on the Pampa Alta path (2h30) or take the coastal path (3h), before having lunch at Lake Roca (included). 

     

    In the afternoon, you will put on a life jacket before boarding a canoe for a ride in Lapataïa Bay. You will be accompanied by a specialist guide who will explain the nature of the far south of Argentina.

  4. Day 4 Flight to El Calafate

    Flight to the glaciers region! You will arrive in El Calafate, and a local driver will take you to your hotel.

    Free afternoon to discover this city, with its amazing views over the Lake Argentino.

  5. Day 5 El Calafate – Visit to a local Estancia & Navigation to the Perito Moreno Glacier

    Today you will have an early start for a drive across the old estancias road on a small-group excursion. The guide will explain to you about the rural life of the Patagonian farms and the indigenous influence. Then, you will arrive at the Estancia and enjoy a typical barbecue with the best wines in the country (included).

    After lunch, you will navigate the South and Rico arms of Lake Argentino until you disembark at Las Monedas beach for a walk in the woods (low level of difficulty). 

    After navigating again you will reach the Perito Moreno Glacier. It is an enormous ice mass covering a 250 square km area and is one of the most wonderful glaciers in the world.

    It is easy to approach the front of the glacier by walking along the footbridges (free time, around 2 hours)

    Return to El Calafate during the evening by minibus.

  6. Day 6 Horse Riding at the heart of Los Glaciares National Park

    Pick-up at the hotel at 7.30h, to start at 9 o’clock a navigation by the North Arm of Argentinian Lake. You will navigate between the glaciers until you reach a panoramic viewpoint of the Upsala Glacier.

    On disembarking at Estancia Cristina, around 11:30 am, your specialized guide will take you to the Caballeriza, where he will assign the horse and the equipment necessary for each passenger to start the adventure!

    You will go on a horse ride through the valleys of the Estancia for around 4 hours, with a stop in the Laguna Pearson refuge for lunch (included)

    Finally, you arrive at the Estancia, where you will make a brief historical visit, and the Costumbrista museum.

    Return to El Calafate by bus

  7. Day 7 End of the trip

    After breakfast, you will be transferred to El Calafate airport according to your flight schedule.
