At Mater we always search for alternative activities to those usually chosen by large groups of tourists so that you can have more intimate and authentic experiences, without missing out on the most emblematic places in Argentina.
In this activity you can discover how a family from Buenos Aires lives on a daily basis, learn about the ingredients they use in their gastronomy, and participate in the preparation of typical meals.
On top of our general sustainability policies (see here), there are some specific sustainable actions we take in this particular tour.
This is a private tour that prioritizes the cultural exchange with the family that will receive you. In this way you will have a unique and personalized experience. We seeks to preserve and value Buenos Aires’ gastronomic traditions.
Buenos Aires has 4 clearly defined seasons: hot and humid summers, and cold winters. You can participate on this activity any time of the year. Temperatures are rarely under 5ºC (41ºF), but may go over 30ºC (86ºF) during the summer! Yet, we suggest to take this tour any time of the year.
Yes, you will be in a family home.
My group of 14 people visited with the local family for a great dinner and empanada cooking session. everyone enjoyed the opportunity to try many of the local dishes and to even make one. the hosts were fantastic. as this was our first day in Argentina and it set the tone for the reminder of the trip.
Had a lovely time in Boedo.
