  1. Day 1 Flight to El Calafate and bus to El Chaltén

Welcome to El Calafate and the land of glaciers.

Upon arrival, you will take a local bus (included) to El Chaltén, the ”paradise” of trekking of Argentina.

After about a 3-hour drive through the steppes of Patagonia, you will arrive at the village where you can admire the famous Mount Fitz Roy. ”Chalten” is the name with which the Tehuelches of the area called the hill that Perito Moreno will later name as Fitz Roy. In the Aonikenk language, it means ”smoking mountain” and the natives, like many early explorers, assumed it was a volcano.

Free afternoon to discover this picturesque village and its surroundings on your own.

  2. Day 2 Free day at El Chaltén: Laguna Torre trek

Today we suggest hiking to Laguna Torre, one of the most classic walks of the place.

It is a valley walk from 8 to 9 hours, which will give you an overview of the mountains and glaciers around. At only 15 minutes there is a viewpoint with a panoramic view of the Solo Hills, Cord Adela, Cerro Torre and Mount Fitz Roy. Cerro Torre stands out as one of the most incredible views of the area.

Duration: The round trip from the center of El Chaltén is approximately 9 hours.

  3. Day 3 Free day at El Chaltén: Laguna de los Tres trek

We suggest you do this unforgettable experience: trekking and a picnic in Laguna de los Tres.

It is one of the most beautiful in the area; it starts at the end of the main street San Martin, after the car park. A sign ”Senda al Fitz Roy” marks the starting point. After about 5 hours excluding the stops (10.2 km), you will get to the end, you will be at 1,170 meters high. Mount Fitz Roy pops up in front of you and a turquoise blue lake stretches out at your feet. The path is fully marked and well laid out. The hanging Piedras Blancas glacier and the Capri Lagoon are two strategic points to contemplate the beauty and tranquility of the place.

Do not forget to bring your picnic to enjoy in this amazing setting.

At 7 pm, you will take the local bus (included) back to El Calafate.
