Buenos Aires & Natural Dyeing Workshop
A guided walking tour through Buenos Aires City. You will discover emblematic buildings, Plaza de Mayo and the culture of the southern part of the city. Once finished the journey you will have the opportunity to learn about an ancient technique to get a colorful palette from plants, insects and minerals, also how the remains of plants were used for cooking. You will participate in a workshop to learn about different native cultures, from the way they got their dyeing materials and how these were used until today in their textiles.
The colors of the Mapuche culture, in Patagonia, have darker tones and as you go north the colors become stronger and more intense. This is due to the different dye sources that inhabit each place: plants, insects and minerals.
