In this tour, you’ll get to know Ushuaia, the southernmost city in the world. You’ll go on amazing adventures, getting to know the flora, fauna and amazing landscapes in this spectacular place. At the Tierra del Fuego National Park we take a semi private tour, with a máximum of 6 people per group, while other tours usually do this in groups of 15 people or more. Most groups stay in the National Park and the Beagle Channel, but we also visit Lago Escondido, which allows us to get to know the interior of the big island.
On top of our general sustainability policies (see here), there are some specific sustainable actions we take in this particular tour. On the one hand, we make activities in small groups for a better and more authentic experience, preventing overtourism (one of the main issues we’re dealing with in tourism nowadays). The tour guides that we choose for this trip are local and experts in the natural heritage of the area. Furthermore, we don’t use plastic for meals.
From October to March (Argentina’s high tourist season) the weather is quite unstable, given that it might frequently be sunny and rain on the same day. Temperatures are usually quite low in the morning and at night, under 10 ºC (50 ºF), and may rise during the day up to about 20 ºC (68 ºF). It is also usually quite windy. Bring your coats!
Yes! You can get to Ushuaia directly from Buenos Aires, Trelew or El Calafate.
Yes, Ushuaia is a very safe city. Yet, just like in any tourist destination, we suggest that you pay attention to your belongings, avoid dark and deserted streets (especially at night), and don’t wear jewelry that’s too flashy.
You cannot miss the “centolla” (a type of crab) and the “cordero patagónico” (lamb).
